There are more than 300 reserves in the City of Marion. Here’s a guide to five of them that you can visit as you roll, scoot or ride the Sturt River Linear Trail or the Coast to Vines Trail. 

 

Sturt River Linear Trail

Oaklands Recreation Plaza

The Oaklands Recreation Plaza features a specially designed park for skateboarding, BMX and scooters, a mini basketball court and parkour obstacle course, along with grassed areas, seating and an automated toilet. A great stop on the Sturt Linear Trail to try out some more adventurous skills.

Facilities: BBQ, Dog Bag Station, Drinking taps / fountain, Historic sites, Lawn - grassed area, Parking (free), Picnic Tables, Playground, Seating, Shelter, Toilets, Wetland.

Willoughby Avenue Reserve

A large natural reserve adjacent to Sturt Linear Park. One of Marion's largest trees, a fig, is a great feature of the park. The reserve received an upgraded playground, seating, shelter and a basketball key in 2010. A BBQ is available at the site, making it a good spot to spend time with the family. Take your picnic as you ride the trail and make a stop at this delightful park.

Coast to Vines Trails

Glade Crescent Reserve

With features for all ages this is a perfect stop on the trail. With plenty of shade, a great flying fox, slides and climbing equipment you can happily rest here as you ride the Coast to Vines.

Facilities: BBQ, Bike / walking path, Bike trails, Disabled access public toilets, Lawn - grassed area, Picnic Tables, Playground, Seating, Shelter, Wetland

Hugh Johnson Boulevard Reserve

A nice little playground with a natural feel that provides a perfect place for a rest while you ride the Coast to Vines.

Facilities: Fitness equipment, picnic area, playground.

Nimboya Road Reserve

Scoot, ride or roll right up to the playground to make this your sprint stage at the Tour de Marion. Finish with a swing or a run on the grass and there’s also a tunnel to ride through.

Facilities: grassed area, seating, playground.
