Immunisation is provided for babies and children in the school program. Vaccines include Hepatitis B, Diphtheria, Tetanus and accellular pertussis (DTPa), Chicken Pox, Gardasil - Human Papilomavirus (HPV), Meningococcal C, Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Varicella (VZV) and Rotavirus.
A Healthy Community
Immunisation clinics are run by Marion Council at Westfield Marion Shopping Centre and the Hallett Cove Library for children up to 7 years of age.
The council also supports immunisation services offered by local Medical Practitioners.
Council runs special catch-up immunisation clinics for school students and adolescents who have missed vaccinations at school.

School catch-up clinics
Catch up immunisation clinics will be held on the dates below for those children who missed a vaccination at school:

Wednesday 10 July 2013 - 3.30pm till 5.00pm
- Wednesday 9 October 2013 - 3.30pm till 5.00pm
The clinics are held at the City of Marion Administration building 245 Sturt Road, Sturt. No appointment is neccessary
Possible reactions from vaccinations
Any injection may result in soreness, redness, itching, swelling or burning at the injection site for 1 to 2 days. Sometimes a small, hard lump may persist for some weeks or more. This is no cause for concern.

Please note: Recipients of a vaccine should remain in the vicinity of the clinic for about 15 minutes after vaccination. This is to ensure that they leave in good health and are not experiencing immediate adverse reactions.
