Midnight Basketball Marion - Volunteers required

Volunteer roles (Note: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.)

  • Team Manager: While knowledge of basketball rules is helpful, it is not essential. Need to commit to at least four nights of the eight week Tournament season. You’ll be allocated to the same team to manage each night. You will be responsible for signing in your players on arrival, supervising your team during the workshop, and managing your team during the matches – discussing team tactics, managing substitutions and encouraging good team work.
  • Workshop Assistant: Help the facilitator to run the workshop and ensure they are effective and fun.
  • Scoreboard Operator: If you haven't done this before, you will be trained on the night.
  • Scorer: Complete score sheets including points, fouls, etc. Again, you can be trained on the night if first time.
  • General Assistant: Assist the Tournament Manager with the running of the night. The Tournament Manager may also allocate you to another specific role if needed (and you are okay to do it), so it would be helpful to volunteer for this role if you are happy to do whatever is required on the night.
  • Catering Assistant: Assist setting up and pack down of the catering area, and serving player and spectator meals.
  • Bus Assistant: Supervising players on bus trip home, assist driver with address details, signing off players once home.
  • Volunteer Assistant: Assist the Tournament Manager in the management of the volunteers - ensuring they sign in, are introduced to one another, check paperwork, etc.

For detailed role descriptions, visit the Midnight Basketball Marion website.
