Online Library Catalogue - How to login to My Account

Access our new Library Catalogue here

  • Click 'Log In' or 'My Account' in the top right hand corner of the Marion Library Catalogue
  • In the field Username enter your member number
    (underneath the barcode of your Marion Library card X0. . . )
  • In the field Password enter your date of birth in the following 8 digit format e.g: 15031967
  • Logging into 'My Account' will enable you to change your password, check and adjust personal information, holds, fines and borrowed items.

The Marion Library Service provides an extensive range of services and facilities as well as community information for your convenience.

Secure Document Bin

Available at the Park Holme Library. 

Storytime for Pre-schoolers

Weekly during the school term. No need to book, just come along. Visit the What's On for Kids page for further details.

Baby Bounce 0 - 2

Fortnightly sessions. No need to book, just come along. Visit the What's On for Kids page for further details.

Children's Activities

During school holidays and special occasions. Visit the What's On for Kids page for further details.

Adult Programs

Including meet and hear author events, scrabble, craft, book discussion groups and specialist programs. Visit the What's On for Adults page further details.

Toy Library

Wide range of toys, games, located at the Park Holme Library and Hallett Cove Libraries. An annual membership fee applies. Enquire online or with your library for fee structure. Visit the Toy Library page further details.

Community/Council information

Including Environmental Management, Community Care Services, Health Services, Rates and Payment options, Crime Prevention, Pet Care and more.

Display cabinet

Available for community groups on a monthly basis. To book your preferred month ring Jill at the Park Holme Library on (08) 8375 6745. All bookings are subject to availability.

Mobile and Home Library Services  

A Mobile Library Service offers a wide selection of stock and operates in the Marion Council area. For more information please view the Mobile Library page.

For residents with limited mobility living in the Marion Council area, a home delivery service is available. Please contact the Park Holme Library for more information on (08) 8375 6745.

JP Service

A JP is available at the Hallett Cove Library on Thursday evenings from 5pm until 6pm. JPs are also available at the Marion Council office during the week. Please visit the JP page or enquire with one of the library customer service officers.

Library Membership

As a member of the Marion Library you are a member of the 'One Card' network and can borrow and return within any participating 'One Card' Library. Borrow 100 items on your card including 20 DVDs from any of the following: books, DVDs, CDs, Nintendo DS games, audio books, magazines. Toys may be borrowed for an annual fee. Your membership includes access to computer services (including wireless).


Join the Library

Becoming a City of Marion Library member is easy and it’s free. Anybody of any age is welcome to join the City of Marion Library Service. If you are under 18 years of age you will require a guarantor (someone over the age of 18).

To join the library you need to:

  • Show personal identification with your current address.
  • Bring in a parent or guardian if you are under 18 years of age.
  • Agree to comply with library policies and regulations.

For all new memberships, please bring along:

Photo ID

  • Passport
  • Student card
  • Proof of age card

          

  • Centrelink/Health care cards
  • Utility bills (e.g. phone, electricity, water,
    gas by recognised provider)
  • Council rates notice
  • Bank statement
  • Residential Tenancy agreement

If you do not have photo ID then you will be asked for two forms of signature ID, which can include:

  • Centrelink card
  • Bank cards
  • Medicare cards
  • Seniors cards
  • Birth certificate extracts

At the time of becoming a member, you will be issued with a borrower's card for you to present when borrowing items.
You may borrow and return items at any branch of the Marion Library Service (including after hours returns chutes).

In the event that you lose your card, please inform the library and another card will be issued to you for a fee of $1.10.


Visitors

If you are visiting the state and would like to use the library on your travels, bring in some photo ID and as a visitor member you can borrow up to 5 items.


Fees

After the due date, all items accumulate fines of 20c per day, per item. Costs will be incurred by you should any library stock become lost or damaged. Payments made on lost items are non refundable.


Renewals

To avoid incurring fees, you are encouraged to renew items online, phone, or in person at any branch of the Marion Library Service. In the instance that a borrower has reserved the item, a renewal is not possible.


Reservations

Items may be reserved by phone or in person at any Marion Library branch, or by accessing our Library Catalogue Online.

You are able to reserve 30 items on any library card.

We will notify you via SMS, email (if you have requested either of these options) or by letter when your reservation becomes available.
