Who are the Friends of the Marion Library?
The Friends of the Marion Library is a group of keen people from the community who endeavour to support, extend and promote the service of the Marion Libraries and also have a bit of fun at the same time.
What is the Friends Committee?
The Friends of the Library Committee is a group of people who meet regularly to plan programs and fundraising activities which support the Marion Library Service.
Throughout the years, the Friends have purchased toys for the toy libraries, book sets for reader's groups and equipment for library programs. They have given generously towards children's activities, supplying prizes and sponsoring guest speakers.
The Friends involve themselves in the Library Lover's Program, which is held in January and early February and gives people an opportunity to register which Book/CD/DVD they like the most.
How can I join the Friends of the Marion Library?
If you wish to join the Friends of the Marion Library, we have provided a membership form below. Return the completed form with the appropriate fee to any branch of the Marion Library Service.
Although our memberships commence on the 1st July each year, new members are welcome at any time.

What do the Friends of the Marion Library Service do?
The role of the Friends is to be an advocate for the library and its services to the community, as well as engaging in fundraising activities to benefit library projects.
Various social and educational functions are held throughout the year. This is a good way to get to know your library service and to meet other like-minded people within your community.
I want to do more. How do I become a committee member?
The Friends Committee hold their AGM in August each year. At this AGM all positions are declared vacant and a person may nominate for the position of either President, Treasurer, Secretary, Editor or Committee member. Positions are decided by ballot.
