City of Marion has a range of Council-owned buildings and facilities throughout the city that are available for the community to use and enjoy.

Many venues also offer the community a range of services and activities.

Administration Centre

The Administration Centre is the main office for the City of Marion and is located at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt SA 5047.

The centre contains the Customer Service Centre, where residents can visit between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday to access a range of services such as paying rates and other bills, registering dogs, visiting the development and planning counter, seeing a JP, and more.

The centre also contains the Council Chamber where Council meetings are frequently held.

City Services (Depot)

City Services is the operational base for Council's infrastructure, open space and waste management services, as well as many other teams. It is located at 935 Marion Road, Mitchell Park SA 5043.

City Services is a high quality operations hub, capable of supporting the city's roads, reserves and 84,000 residents for many years to come. It also acts as an operational base to help the community in the event of a regional emergency.

City Services was updated in 2015 now hosts the following teams:

Cove Civic Centre

The Cove Civic Centre is located at 1 Ragamuffin Drive, Hallett Cove and is home to a library, enterprise hub and community spaces.

The vision of the centre is to provide the community with a facility that is flexible and can support a diverse range of activities, to provide meetings spaces for people to connect for learning and recreation pursuits and to support local businesses with their endeavours.

The 2000m2 building has been designed to reflect the history and culture of the local community and captures the spirit of the environment and natural coastal features.

The Cove Civic Centre is part of the City of Marion’s commitment to providing quality spaces for the benefit of its residents, workers and visitors.

Marion Cultural Centre

The Marion Cultural Centre is located at 287 Diagonal Road, Oaklands Park SA 5046 between the Westfield Shopping Centre and SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre.

With design features that reflect the Council's strong commitment to environmental awareness and energy efficiency, the Marion Cultural Centre comprises of a theatre, meeting rooms, art gallery, café, foyer, plaza and the Marion Library Service.


Living Kaurna Cultural Centre

The Living Kaurna Cultural Centre is located in the Warriparinga Wetlands on Warriparinga Way (Off Sturt Road) and offers indigenous and environmental education programs, events and cultural performances.

Tourists and visitors from the wider community are very welcome to come and learn about Kaurna culture and share in the special environment of peace that exists at Warriparinga.

All visitors are invited here in a spirit of humanity, and are asked to respect Kaurna cultural protocols when they visit the centre.


Marion Heritage Research Centre

The Marion Heritage Research Centre is located in the old 'red house' next to our Administration building at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt SA 5047.

The research centre is an exciting new focal point for cultural heritage in Marion, one of the oldest colonially-settled areas in Adelaide. It is a place where documents and photographs relating to its history can be kept, preserved, viewed and shared.


Neighbourhood Centres

The City of Marion's four neighbourhood and community centres offer a great place to have fun, meet people and learn something new.

The centres are located in the suburbs of Sturt, Glandore, Mitchell Park and Trott Park and provide a variety of programs and opportunities to serve the diversity of age, gender and cultural needs of local residents.

Marion Library Service

The Marion Library Service consists of three branches located in the suburbs of Oaklands Park, Hallett Cove and Park Holme, as well as a home library service.

It offers a range of services and facilities to the City of Marion community, as well as a comprehensive selection of items to borrow.


Marion Outdoor Pool

The Marion Outdoor Pool is a premier open air swimming facility located at the corner of Oaklands Road and Hendrie Street in Park Holme SA 5043. The centre is set in grassed and shady grounds and located in the heart of Marion, offering summertime fun and relaxation for everyone.

Natural shade from more than 35 mature Chinese Elms as well as attractive shade cloth over smaller pools and surrounds provides a pleasant, care-free respite even on the hottest of days.

Two water slides at the outdoor pool provide fun for all ages, all day long.


Other buildings

While City of Marion manages some venues in the city, there are many other facilities available to the community. An information sheet is available which lists halls and meeting rooms within the Council area that are available for hire.
