Meet the Author Events

The City of Marion Library Service has been running successful author visits since 2002. Most are free events and many book out quickly.

A plethora of celebrity and popular authors have graced Marion as the community relish in the opportunity to meet and hear bestselling authors.

Past authors have included Bev and Peter Brock, Tara Moss, Monica McInerney, Mem Fox, Geraldine Cox, Jodi Picoult, Lionel Shriver, Matthew Reilly, Peter FitzSimons, Di Morrissey, Maggie Beer, William McInnes, Kaz Cooke, Fiona McIntosh and many, many, more...

Digital Literacy

One-to-One digital device help
  • Have you just bought an iPad, tablet, smartphone or eReader?
  • Do you need some help?

Book in for a free, 45 minute, personalised, one-on-one session with our Digital Literacy Volunteer.

Sessions are available at Cove Civic Centre, Cultural Centre Library and Park Holme Library.

IT and tea

Would you like to learn more about IT or share you IT skills with others?

Join our friendly and informal group for a cup of tea or coffee and to help each other use our digital devices. Bring along your own smartphone or tablet.

IT and tea meets:

  • The first Friday of the month, Cove Civic Centre, 1pm - 2:30pm
  • Every Thursday, Park Holme Library, 1pm - 3pm

Broadband For Seniors

Broadband for seniors helps senior Australians get the skills they need to use computers and access the internet.

Sessions are available to anyone 50 years or over who want to learn how to use a computer and surf the internet for free. Our friendly and experienced volunteers provide one to one tutoring. You can book a six week session of 2 hours per week.

Special Interest Groups

A range of special interest groups are available at all Marion Library branches. No need to book, just come along to a group that interests you for socialising, sharing information and fun times.

Project Knitting Group

A knitting group that meets once a month on Tuesday mornings at Cove Civic Centre and focusses on monthly projects for charities and hospitals.

Join us to meet other knitters, make new friends and learn new techniques.

A fun interactive group for keen knitters, full of "great yarns", "woolly tales" and "knitty gritty". Bring your needles along and make some "close-knit" friends.
