Review and Selection Committee
While decisions are made at General Council meetings, the City of Marion established a Review and Selection Committee commencing 1 January 2017 with membership comprising of three Elected Members.
This Committee is established to review, monitor and advise on relevant strategies regarding organisation performance and culture.
The Committee’s Terms of Reference have been developed having regard to the powers, functions and responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer and specify the duties of the Committee in detail.
In summary, the Committee is responsible for:
- Sourcing and recommending to Council the appointment of expert members to Committees.
- Reviewing the performance of the Chief Executive Officer.
- Recommending a process to Council for the recruitment of the Chief Executive Officer (as required).
The Review and Selection Committee comprises of the following members: Mayor Kris Hanna (Presiding Member), Councillor Jason Veliskou, Councillor Jerome Appleby and Councillor Ian Crossland.
The Review and Selection Committee meets on an as need basis however three meetings have been scheduled for 2017 to be held in the Committee Room at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. The public is welcome to attend.
Meeting dates for 2017 are as follows:
- 7 February
- 2 May
- 7 November

An agenda listing the issues and relevant reports for discussion at the meeting is available in advance so that everyone has the opportunity to be aware of matters before the Committee.
